How to maintain plush toys?

March 19th at 10:18am

1. Keep the indoor clean as much as possible to reduce dust, and frequently use clean, dry, and soft tools to clean the surface of toys.

2. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and keep the inside and outside of the toy dry.

3. When cleaning, necessary measures can be taken according to the size. For smaller ones, you can first use tape to stick the parts that are afraid of wear and tear, directly put them into the washing machine for gentle washing, shake dry, hang them in a cool place to dry thoroughly, and intermittently tap the toy to make its fur and filling fluffy and soft. For larger toys, you can find filling seams, cut the seams, and remove the filling material (nylon cotton). Special parts can be left unused (to better maintain appearance), and parts that are afraid of wear and tear can be attached with tape. Clean and dry the outer skin, then put the filling material into the toy skin, shape it, and sew it.

4. For woolen/cloth or dolls equipped with highly intelligent electronics, machine cores, and sound systems, it is necessary to remove electronic components (some are not waterproof) or batteries before cleaning to prevent damage from water.

5. After cleaning and drying the toys, use a clean comb or similar tool to comb them neatly in the direction of the fur, making the fur smooth and beautiful.

6. Check if the internal organs of plush toys are clean and hygienic. Unqualified toy fillers include discarded plastic, fiber ropes, paper scraps, and even black cotton, which is prohibited by the government.

7. Twist the eyes, nose, and mouth of a plush toy to see if they are sturdy. If the small parts on the toy do not meet national standards for tensile strength, they are considered unqualified products.

8. For the sake of good health, plush toys should be regularly consumed and cleaned.

9. A simple and easy method for sterilization and disinfection, which can be gently pressed back and forth on the fuzz with a high-power steam iron, also has a certain sterilization and dirt removal effect.

10. The key to washing plush toys at home: For toys with few small parts, hand washing or machine washing with 30-40 ℃ warm water can be used. Neutral laundry detergent can be used for cleaning. For long plush toys, using cashmere detergent will have a better effect.

11. How to make toys less likely to get dirty and extend their lifespan? When purchasing toys, do not discard them, whether they are cardboard boxes or plastic bags, in case of dust accumulation during storage. In areas with humid climates, to prevent toys from getting damp, desiccants can be placed during storage, and stuffed toys should be stored to avoid accumulation as much as possible to prevent deformation and damage.
